About the Event
Heavy is the Crown: The Responsibility of Leadership
The 2026 Brother’s Keeper Oratorical Contest, hosted by the Tau Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., is an opportunity for young men to showcase their voices, demonstrate critical thinking, and compete for scholarships while exploring the responsibilities of leadership.
This year's theme, "Heavy is the Crown," challenges participants to reflect on the responsibilities young men carry as future leaders and how they can prepare to lead with integrity, character, and purpose in today's world.
Open to male high school seniors in Columbia, Richmond, McDuffie, Lincoln, Burke, and Jefferson counties, the competition encourages participants to inspire others through the power of public speaking.
